1. The short version

Peoplekeeper is built and operated by Above AS ("we", "us", "our"). We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data. Everything you put into Peoplekeeper stays on your device and — if you have iCloud enabled — in your own private iCloud account, which we cannot access.

There are no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no advertising trackers, and no third-party services that profile you. If that's all you need to know, you're done. The rest of this page just spells it out in detail.

2. Who we are

The data controller for Peoplekeeper is:

  • Above AS
  • Email: ivan@aboveapps.no

If you have any questions about this policy, or about the data you have stored locally in Peoplekeeper, contact us at the email above.

3. What data Peoplekeeper stores

Peoplekeeper lets you keep notes about people in your life. The information you type into the app — names, birthdays, notes, tags, and similar details — is stored:

  • On your device, inside the app's local database.
  • In your private iCloud account, if you have iCloud enabled on your device. This sync is handled by Apple's CloudKit service. The data lives in your iCloud — not on any server we own or operate — and we have no access to it.

We never see, read, or transmit this content to ourselves or any third party.

4. What data we do not collect

  • We do not collect your name, email, or any account credentials, because Peoplekeeper doesn't have user accounts.
  • We do not use analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or usage tracking SDKs.
  • We do not use advertising identifiers or run any ads.
  • We do not access your device's contacts, location, photos, microphone, or camera unless you explicitly grant access for an in-app feature, and even then the data stays on your device.

5. Notifications

Peoplekeeper can send you local notifications — for example, birthday reminders. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device by iOS. They are not routed through our servers, and we do not see when or whether they fire.

6. iCloud sync

If you sign in to iCloud on your Apple device, Peoplekeeper can sync your data between your devices using Apple's CloudKit. In that case:

  • The data is stored in your personal iCloud account, owned by you.
  • It is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • We cannot read it, export it, or recover it on your behalf.

You can disable iCloud sync at any time in iOS Settings.

7. Children

Peoplekeeper is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children.

8. Your rights

Because we do not hold your personal data on any server we operate, most data-protection requests (access, correction, deletion, export) can be fulfilled directly inside the app: you can edit or delete any entry, and you can delete the app to remove all locally stored data.

If you live in the EU/EEA, the UK, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws (such as the GDPR), you still have rights under those laws. To exercise them, or if you have any questions, email us at ivan@aboveapps.no.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you inside the app. Continued use of Peoplekeeper after such changes means you accept the updated policy.
